A horizontal bar hanging in the air, the warm interior visible only where the eye meets it head-on; from any other angle, the plates close into a single mass of blue. Walk along it and the warm spot tracks you, plate after plate opening and closing. The wall behind it carries the hue, a soft column of blue running along its length. Four hundred handcut squares, stacked.
