privacy
sm art objects is the studio practice of Seth Margolies, based in Brooklyn, New York. This policy explains what information the studio collects through its website (smartobjects.studio) and through the private, internal tool it uses to publish its own work to its own Instagram account.
what this covers
This policy covers two things: the sm art objects website, and a private publishing tool the studio uses to post its own artwork photographs to its own Instagram Business account. The tool is not a public product. It is not used by, and does not collect data from, any third-party people or accounts. It operates only on the studio's own connected Instagram Business account and Facebook Page.
information collected through the website
The website does not ask visitors to create accounts and does not collect personal information beyond what a visitor chooses to send. If you email the address listed on the contact page, the studio receives your email address and whatever you write. Standard server and hosting logs may record technical details such as browser type and approximate location for security and reliability. The studio does not sell this information.
information used by the instagram publishing tool
The publishing tool uses access granted by the studio owner to post to the studio's own Instagram Business account. It reads the account's identifier and the Facebook Page connected to it, then creates and publishes photo posts with captions the owner has written and approved in advance. It does not read, store, or process private messages, follower data, or any information belonging to other Instagram or Facebook users.
third-party services
The website and tool rely on a small number of service providers: Vercel for hosting, Sanity for content management, and the Meta (Instagram and Facebook) platform APIs for publishing. Each handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. The studio shares only what is needed for these services to function.
data retention
Access tokens used by the publishing tool are stored privately by the studio and are used only to publish to the studio's own account. Emails you send are kept only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the correspondence. You can ask the studio to delete correspondence it holds about you.
your choices
You can contact the studio at any time to ask what information it holds about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Because the publishing tool operates only on the studio's own accounts, it does not hold information about website visitors or other users.
